OnePlus has launched its new flagship smartphone- Oneplus 8 in an online launch event on April 14, 2020. The Oneplus 8 is the successor of OnePlus 7T which was introduced back in September 2019.
Oneplus 8 features a 6.55-inch FHD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It has HDR 10+ support, tuned color accuracy rating of JNCD around 0.4 for life-like quality. OnePlus claims that it has 4096 levels of auto-brightness control and has an A+ Display rating from DisplayMate. The OnePlus 8 has a glass back with 3D Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The new dual SIM(Nano) smartphone runs Android 10.0 with OxygenOS 10 and is powered by Octa-Core Snapdragon 865 SoC with an X55 5G modem that supports both NSA and SA 5G.
In terms of storage, the phone comes in two variants of memory- 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB.
For photos and videos, Onrplus 8 packs a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48MP primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor and OIS, 16MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 116° FoV and a 2MP macro sensor. On the front, there is a 16MP in-screen camera with a Sony IMX471 sensor for selfies and video calls.
Oneplus 8 comes with a 4300mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T fast charging that can charge the phone from 1% to 50% in just 22 minutes.
Other key features on the phone include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
OnePlus 8 was launched in Onyx Black (gloss-finish glass), Glacial Green (matte glass) and interstellar Glow (gloss-finish glass) color options.
The Oneplus 8 (8GB+128GB) is priced at $699 (around Rs. 53,100 ) and the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage version will be available for $799 (around Rs.60,700).
Oneplus 8 will be available to purchase across all global markets where OnePlus is available, including North America, Asia, and Europe. It will be available in the US and North America starting April 29. pre-orders have started today.
The Oneplus 8 will be available in Europe and the UK from April 21st starting at £599 (8GB+128GB) and €699 (12GB+256GB).
The company said that it will be available in India this summer on Amazon.in however, the pricing details are not yet revealed.
