Donald Trump caught on camera appearing to refuse to shake disabled child's hand

The President has been slammed as 'absolutely sick' and 'despicable' after he appeared to refuse to shake the boy's hand

Donald Trump was caught "completely ignoring" a disabled boy as he repeatedly reached out for a handshake at the White House.

Footage taken after the outspoken politician gave a passionate speech on healthcare shows President Trump shake the hands of several guests - including kids - at his official residence.

The 71-year-old dubbed the children lined up behind him as "victims of Obamacare" as he addressed ways to improve healthcare in the US.

But the clip has been widely shared online and social media users have blasted the controversial politician.

However, others have pointed out that in a full version of the video, President Trump does indeed greet the boy when he entered the room and shake his hand before the speech.

Yet one Twitter user wrote: "He didn't even high five that boy in the wheelchair!!!

"Using sick children as props. DESPICABLE!"

Another wrote: "This makes me absolutely sick."

That man occupies the most powerful office in the free world and his daily outrages against civilised norms are having a corrosive effect /3

How stunning, and how horrible, that Trump cannot bring himself to shake the hand of a small boy who only wanted to touch the President. /4x

Even Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling, 51, slammed President Trump.

She fire off several tweets about the video, one of which read: "How stunning, and how horrible, that Trump cannot bring himself to shake the hand of a small boy who only wanted to touch the President."

In November 2015, President Trump came under fire for mocking a disabled New York Times reporter in another video during a public appearance.

The dad-of-five performed an impression of Serge Kovaleski, who suffers from a congenital joint condition.
