Casualties confirmed as NATO convoy attacked in Afghanistan

A NATO convoy has been attacked in Afghanistan’s southern Kandahar province, the military bloc confirmed, adding that the assault led to an unspecified number of casualties.

The convoy was attacked on Wednesday afternoon on the outskirts of Kandahar city, the NATO-led Resolute Support mission said in a statement. It noted that “the attack did cause casualties” without providing further details.

“Unfortunately, we don't have the confirmed number,” a mission representative confirmed in a statement to RT, while not specifying the nationalities of the persons killed or injured.

“We do know that all of the wounded have arrived at a coalition medical facility and are receiving treatment.”
